Private Family | Amsterdam | 32 hours per week

A private family based in Amsterdam is seeking an experienced and service-oriented Household Manager / Butler to oversee the smooth day-to-day operation of their two residences. This is a long-term, live-out position for a polished and proactive professional who enjoys taking ownership and ensuring that every aspect of the household runs seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation and presentation of both residences.

• Perform housekeeping duties and occasional ironing where required. Laundry and household linens are professionally managed by an external dry-cleaning service

• Coordinate and supervise external service providers, including gardeners, pool maintenance companies, and other contractors.

• Manage household supplies and ensure the home remains well-organized and fully stocked.

• Welcome guests and provide a warm, professional level of hospitality and service.

• Assist with household logistics, scheduling, and practical day-to-day matters.

• Support the family with the planned relocation to a larger residence later this year.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate combines a hands-on approach with a genuine passion for hospitality and service excellence.

Requirements

• Proven experience within a luxury hospitality environment or private household.

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Proactive, discreet, and highly trustworthy.

• Able to work independently and anticipate needs.

• Fluent in English and/or Dutch.

• Valid EU driver’s license and confident driving skills.

• No cat allergy.

• Excellent references.

Given the family’s profile and commitment to privacy, the selected candidate will be subject to a comprehensive background screening conducted by an accredited third-party organization.

Schedule & Compensation

• Approximately 32 hours per week (4 days).

• Long-term, live-out position.

• Competitive yearly salary (range €38.000 – €55.000 gross, based on full-time) and benefits package, commensurate with experience.
